no bairro há locais que encantam e fazem sonhar, fruto de histórias e de séculos ao mesmo tempo tão remotos como presentes.

* ontem foi dia de visita à Hemeroteca de Lisboa. Para quem não conhece, a Hemeroteca é a 'Biblioteca dos Jornais e das Revistas, espólio que conta com grandes nomes de publicações que outrora existiram, algumas das quais, as mais antigas, datam do século XVIII'. O meu muito obrigada a Elisabete Rocha.

In 'Bairro Alto' district there are places that bewitch and make dream, fruit of histories and centuries at the same time so remote like presents.

* yesterday was day of visit to the Hemeroteca of Lisbon. For the one who does not know, the Hemeroteca is the ' Library of the Newspapers and Magazines, estate that tells of great names of publications that once upon a time existed, some of which dated from century XVIII'. In answer to all received e-mails, the explication was the preparation of a show-room. That, a shop update that I'm working on, learning spanish,... I definitively need holidays.

The show-room is at Oporto, at Papel & Ca., and can be visited until 19th of July.

Hoje (já?!) é Segunda-feira, e há, literalmente, novidades na loja.
Já estava a ser complicado conseguir conciliar o design antigo com as actualizações que fazia à loja nos últimos tempos, por isso ela está agora com um ar mais fresco e novo. Por enquanto, vai ficar nesta morada. Algumas alterações continuarão nos próximos dias, mas darei notícias. Espero que gostem das malas! Boa semana!

Today is Monday (already?!), and there are, literally, news at the shop.
It had start to be a little difficult to conciliate her old design with the updates I was making to the shop in the last couple of months, so, she is now with a fresh new look. For now, she will staying here. Some alterations will continue in the next few days, but I will give notice. I hope you like the bags! Good week to all of you!

Este cão esteve no espaço Anthrop por pouquíssimos dias, foi amor à 1ª vista e foi para um menino, espero que se tornem bons amigos e que se dêem muitas alegrias.

Por isso, fiz este, para que a Anthrop pudesse voltar a ter em stock um dos meus cães.


This dog was at space Anthrop for just a few days, was love at first sight and (s)he was for a little boy, I hope that they'll turn up very good friends and that they'll give each other so much joy.

For that, I have made this one, so that Anthrop could have again in stock one of my dogs.

Tal como ficou prometido aqui...

Chama-se Carlos Maia Rosa e é artesão. Cresci com a inspiração que me deu como artista e com a respiração do seu trabalho, as suas caravelas, barcos, cavaleiros, armaduras,...
Cresci na FIA (Feira Internacional de Artesanato), onde passei muito tempo, nas muitas participações conjuntas que fez com a Câmara Municipal de Sintra, e tenho muito, muito orgulho dele e do seu trabalho.

Talvez seja por isso que me sinto tão em casa a fazer o que faço.

Vou para o Porto em trabalho! Bom fim-de-semana!

Such as I promised here...

His name is Carlos Maia Rosa and is a craftsman. I grew with the inspiration that he gave me as an artist, and with the breathing of his work, his caravels, boats, riders, frameworks...
I grew up in FIA, an International Market of Craftwork that takes place every year in Lisbon , in his many joint participations with the Town Hall of Sintra, and I have much, much pride of his work and him.

Perhaps that's why I feel so at home doing what I do.

I'm leaving for Oporto in work! Good weekend to all!

É geralmente daqui, do 3º esquerdo dos meus Avós, que são tirados os retratos aos meus bonecos.
Eu acho que eles gostam, a casa transborda de luz, e eu também adoro.
A casa, recheada de carinho de Avó, e com os trabalhos de inspiração do meu Avô, não podia ser melhor escolhida.
Para breve, fica prometido contar aqui a história e trabalho do meu Avô.

It's usually from here, from the 3rd left of my grandparents, that are tooked pictures from my dolls.
I think they like it, the house is full of light, and I like it too.
The house, full fill of grandmother's gentleness, and with the inspirational work of my grandfather, could not be better chosen.
I'll post one of these days some of my grandfather's history (and work).

shop update

O primeiro boneco que quis fazer foi um coelho.
Desde sempre que gosto de coelhos, da sua ternura e da ligação que para mim têm à infância.
Entre outras voltas, acabei por fazer primeiro outras personagens: um casal de macacos, uma elefanta, dois meninos, um leão e uma leoa, uma gata, galos. Os coelhos estão, enfim, aqui.

Fazes-me falta todos os dias.


The first softie I want to make was a bunny.
Since ever I love bunnies, their gentleness and connection to childhood.
Between other toys, I did first other characters: a pair of monkeys, an elephant girl, a girl and a boy, a lion and a lioness, a cat, the roosters. The bunnies are finally here.

I miss you every day.

Alguns dos meus GALOS. estão agora em Barcelona, na loja Duduá.
É uma sensação estranha vê-los partir para outras paragens, mas saber que vão dar muita alegria e cor aos novos donos, deixa-me sem dúvida muito feliz. Para além disso, permite-me também continuar a dar vida a novos personagens... e a fazer felizes mais e mais clientes.

Some of my GALOS.ROOSTERS. are now in Barcelona, at Duduá.
It's a strange feeling to see them going for new places and homes, but to know that they will give a lot of joy and colour to their new owners, makes me certainly very happy. Besides that, it allows me to keep on giving life to new characters... and that way making more and more customers happy.
